These caramelized onions are so versatile. Perfect on a cheese plate, burgers, or in pasta. Haskap juice creates a depth of flavour while adding an antioxidant boost.
Ingredients: 4 large Spanish or sweet onions, sliced. 2 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp sugar 1 tbsp salt 1/4 cup Haskap juice 1. In a pan on medium heat, add oil and sliced onions. 2. Sauté for 5 minutes. 3. Add the remaining ingredients to the pan and reduce heat to low-medium. Stir occasionally until the onions are golden brown. N.B. This is a slow process; it takes about 45 minutes for onions to soften and “candy2, but it is worth it!
